Sauvignon Blanc

This is in our portfolio of ‘Regional Range’ wines; wines from specific sub-regions of the Great Southern. This Sauvignon Blanc is all from our ‘Langton’ vineyard, Mt Barker. The season had some challenges with some unseasonal rain in February after a drier than usual spring, but the vines flourished and easily ripened the above average yields. It was a relatively short harvest period so it was an intense, but successful vintage.
COLOUR
Bright and clear with just a hint of pale green/gold.
AROMA
Distinctively varietal, this wine has the fresh aromatics so typical of Sauvignon Blanc; herbaceous aromas of snow peas and cape gooseberries with citrussy characters of lemongrass and a hint of Thai basil.
PALATE
This is a zesty, crisp dry wine with delicious tropical and citrussy fruit flavours on the palate. There’s hints of pink grapefruit and guava and these fruit flavours are well balanced by the fresh natural acidity. It has good palate weight from the riper parcel of fruit with the grapes from the cooler block contributing the fresh, zingy acidity giving good length of flavour and deliciously dry finish.
CELLARING POTENTIAL
Excellent drinking now and over the next 12+ months.
