Malbec

Sourced from our best vineyards in Frankland, 2019 was a mostly mild season other than a significant frost in early November (of 2018) which did reduce yields in some blocks. Traditional winemaking including regular pumpovers during fermentation has ensured maximum colour and flavour extraction as the finished wine attests to. Maturation for nearly 18 months in French oak has allowed the integration of flavours as well as some tannin development.
COLOUR
A very dense dark purple.
AROMA
Has beautiful, berry fruit aromas (think ‘Fruits of the Forest’) together with a subtle, slight floral character of fresh violets.
PALATE
This Is a well flavoured, medium bodied wine with a good density of fruit flavours balanced by the acid and its tannin structure. It has a core of rich dense fruit eg sour cherry, complexed by some dusty, carob-like flavours and a hint of earthiness, balancing the berry fruit flavours. With these generous fruit flavours it can be enjoyed now but it also has good, gently chewy tannins which will ensure it will also age well for several years.
