2006 Zeepaard Shiraz

The 2006 summer and autumn in the Great Southern were one of the coolest on record. The long, cool ripening period meant the reds were picked with great intensity of flavour.

Colour:
Deep ruby red with an intense purple hue.

Aroma:
There are hints of licorice combined with a touch of white pepper.

Palate:
The palate is medium bodied with intense berry flavours. These are nicely combined with spicy pepper and a touch of oak is evident. Fine tannins are evident on the finish which is long and lasting.

Cellar Potential:
Designed for immediate consumption, however will reward the patient connoisseur with cellaring of approximately 3 to 5 years.
