Our Vineyard

Premium wine can only come from excellent fruit and it is for this reason that our winemakers dedicate many months leading up to vintage, visiting and monitoring vineyards throughout the Great Southern region – ensuring that only the best parcels of fruit are selected and picked for the West Cape Howe range of wines. West Cape Howe was founded in 1997 and has soon become one of the fastest growing wine brands in Western Australia, now producing around 60,000 cases annually. The sourcing of fruit from specific vineyards, and in many cases specific blocks on the vineyard, is one of the most important factors in the production of West Cape Howe Wines.

In addition over time, it has acquired some of the oldest vineyard resources in the state, giving it un-equalled access to the best and most consistent quality fruit that the cool Great Southern wine region has to offer. The Landsdale Vineyard, located just outside the township of Mount Barker, Western Australia, provides us with the majority of the fruit. Planted in 1987, the Landsdale Vineyard has some of the most mature vines in the Great Southern, with some 80 hectares under vine. Premium fruit is also sourced from areas including Denmark, Frankland River, Margaret River and the Perth Hills.
