2016 Pinot Noir

West Cape Howe WinesVintage Description:

A light dry red that is savoury in style rather than fruity, with some bottle age complexity

Winemaking Information:Some of the parcels of grapes were from relatively young vines; they are particularly well suited to producing this lighter, more approachable style of wine. After fermentation, the wine was matured in older French oak barriques for just 10 months before bottling in early 2017.
Colour:A light, ‘bricky’ red.
Aroma:Quite a perfumed nose with some attractive cherry fruit aromas that are nicely developed after some bottle age, with a hint of some smoky black tea characters.
Palate:This is a light and textural dry red. Not overtly fruity, it is savoury in style with those cherry stone flavours and a nice, chewy dryness on the finish.
Cellar Potential:Very much a food wine; serve it lightly chilled on a warm day.
